Flying Models published its first article about an RC model in December 1950. The article, written by Norman Rosenstock, featured Norm's Electron, a model designed and built by Norm in 1949 specifically to meet the needs and abilities of radio control modeling. Originally controlled via a ground-based transmitter, Norm later designed a hand-held transmitter unit.
